Product Description

This ancient Gluten Free superfood whole grain, a staple food of the Aztecs and Mayans, provides a festival of nutrients and benefits. With a similar nutritional value to quinoa, it is superior to commonly used grains. Simply packed with antioxidants and essential vitamins and minerals, it’s a good source of Vitamins A, C, E, K, B5, B6, folate, niacin and riboflavin, as well as calcium, magnesium, copper, zinc, potassium and phosphorus. It is also a rich source of highly bioavailable protein. It has an earthy, nutty flavour.

Not only is it gluten free, it helps lower cholesterol levels, its anti-inflammatory properties can help with chronic conditions like diabetes and heart disease, lowers blood pressure, helps the body absorb calcium through its lysine content, and high in fibre therefore highly digestible. It’s even been linked to helping prevent premature greying (hair).



Amaranth can be used as a breakfast cereal, popped for a snack and added to soups and stews or used as Quinoa.

Use 2.5 cups water to 1 cup Amaranth

Combine in a pot and bring to a boil

Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes

Use 3 cups water and cook a little longer for a porridge-like consistency
